We checked into Terrace Pantheon Relais. A small old hotel and found the restaurant closed so we immediately hit the streets of Rome.  

The first time to do in Rome…..have a Gelato! We went to the famous 150 Flavors. The shop is just around the corner of the Pantheon.

What is this stuff?

Ice cream is airier and has a higher fat content. Gelato is softer and packed with flavor. Both contain a lot of sugar, but gelato has much less fat. It's also about 50% more costly than ice cream.

The long, long plane ride is half over. Of course we still have the long flight home but we'll try to ignore what's ahead for the next ten days.

We stumble off the plane and here was Daniel - a good Italian name. He's our driver for the time we'll be in Italy.

A very long day comes to a close. Time to stagger back to the hotel, check out the rooms and crash.
