2018 Charity Walk

A chance to give back and have a good time - at the same time!

We're looking for some fun-loving, wonderful folks to join us on the annual gastronomical charity walk through Waikiki.

The Annual Charity Walk is the BIG fundraiser for the year and a ton of people turn out. You stroll the length of Waikiki making lots of pit shops for food that is donated by just about everyone. You literally eat your way from beginning to end. Think of it as walking off the calories as you stuff them in.

We're inviting anyone from the class of '69 - any school - to join our group representing RHS '69, Kalani '69 and McKinley '69...and you!

Here's everything you need to get started:

Saturday, May 19th.

Starts at 7:00 a.m. (all walkers must be walking by 7:00 a.m.)

It begins and ends at McCoy Pavilion, Ala Moana Beach Park

Ala Moana Shopping Center (corner of Atkinson and Ala Moana Blvd.)

Magic Island parking lot or street parking

(Ala Moana keyhole area will be closed off)

Gives everyone a chance to raise money for Hawaii's charities. Walk with the Hawaii Lodging & Tourism Association and their members to help build a better, healthier Hawaii, for all of us.

Everyone - except no pets. Please leave Gizmo at home.

In 1974 the Hawai`i Lodging & Tourism Association sponsored a charitable "Superwalk" to benefit one major charitable organization. In 1979, the Hawai`i Lodging & Tourism Association members voted to extend the reach of support offered by the Walk's fund-raising capability.

The Visitor Industry Charity Walk is the result of this decision. All Hawaii non-profit charities are eligible to benefit. Walkers are treated to food, drink and fun at checkpoints along the walk route. All checkpoints are operated and supplied with refreshments and helpers by Hawai`i hotels and allied organizations. Entertainment may also be provided at many checkpoints and at the end of the walk.

Download the walk form here.

Write a check for $40 per person. That registration fee gets you a Charity Walk T-shirt from Kyoya hotels, plus you get all the food along the route. We're riding the coattails of the Moana Surfrider cause Bobby Imoto is a big shot there and they do all the paperwork for us. Don't delay! Reigistration closes soon. Send the registrations form with your check to:
