October 30 - Day 6

Hakodate - Sendai - Matsushima

Today is the bullet train from Hakodate to Sendai. Once there they grab a bus for Matsushima and a visit to a tsunami memorial on the way to the hotel.

There's another chance for a furo tonight, for those brave enough.

The most popular activity on this tour is...eating.

So let's start the day with breakfast.

On the bus headed to the bullet train is a lesson in crane folding using luggage tags.

A new day - time for a new city. Leaving Matsushima for the bullet train station. Japan hotel staff always say goodbye in a great way.

Peeking through the windows

As usual, everyone gets up too early and  has to wait for the restaurant to open.

Buying stuff to eat on the train.

After all, it's THREE. HOURS. LONG.

Arrived in Sendai via the Bullet Train. In 2011 a massive earthquake off Fukushima caused a tsunami that leveled this city.

The homes pictured here were all rebuilt since that time. The rebuilding goes on today.

The big white structure is a Tsunami Memorial. The height of the memorial is 27 feet, the height of the tidal wave.

Yummy. It's dinner time at what Vincent says is the best buffett so far.

After dinner some of the ladies wore yukatas for a group photo.

The journey continues...

So the guy's decided to do it too.

Afterwards the hotel held a fish slicing class. They ate it afterwards and waddled to their rooms for the night.
